Honda Motor Co., Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the development, manufacture, and distribution of motorcycles, automobiles, and power products primarily in North America, Europe, and Asia. Its motorcycle line consists of business and commuter models, as well as sports models, including trial and moto-cross racing; all?terrain vehicles; personal watercrafts; and multi utility vehicles. Back in February, I wrote about SolarCity's deal with Honda Motor Corporation (HMC). Under that deal, $65 million was made available by Honda to help finance over 3000 homes and dealerships. Honda saw the deal as a way to help sell its line of alternative energy vehicles and also change its dealerships to solar power to lower monthly utility costs.

General Motors Co.’s (NYSE: GM) Chevrolet Spark made the cut. The Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (NYSE: HMC) Fit, Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) Yaris and Prius C, Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) Fiesta, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent, Fiat 500, Mazda 2, Mitsubishi Mirage and Nissan Versa sedan did not.

Only five carmakers are included! in KBBs top 10. Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) nabs four spots, General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) grabs three, Chrysler Group gets two and Honda Motor Corp. (NYSE: HMC) gets one spot in the top 10. Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) was shut out of the top 10, as were such carmakers as Volkswagen, Nissan and Subaru.

Shares of Japanese real-estate companies managed to move higher in Tokyo, with Mitsui Fudosan (JP:8801) (MTSFF) up 1.6%, and Mitsubishi Estate Co. (JP:8802) (MITEF) up 1.9%. Local exporters, however, failed to lead the market lower: Honda Motor Co. (JP:7267) (HMC) lost 0.8%, and Kyocera Corp. (JP:6971) (KYOCF) fell 0.6%
