Apple Inc. Unveils New Products at WWDC (AAPL)

Tim Cook took the stage at WWDC today to showcase some of Apple’s (AAPL) latest products that will soon hit the market. Aside from spending a great deal of his presentation trashing Android and competitors Google and Microsoft (MSFT), he also detailed several features and products that are slated to be released soon.

The HomeKit: This is an app that allows for a number of unique features, like secure pairing as well as the ability to control garage doors, locks, and lights, among other things. iOS 8: One of Cook’s major sticking points against Android was the lack of users utilizing its latest operating system, while boasting that Apple iPhone users have been very quick to integrate with iOS 7. Now, details on iOS 8 have been unveiled with a swarm of new features like new apps, new predictive typing features, the easier ability to share files, and more. HealthKit: This app will allow health and fitness apps communicate with each other to help a user keep better track of their overall health.

Apple is clearly looking to step up its game to take a run at some of the latest releases and moves by competitors. The new features the company plans to release will allow users to integrate their home with their Apple devices as home automation gets closer and closer every day.

The new products may help to alleviate some fears as many users and analysts have accused the company of a lack of innovation as it has been several years since it has released a major product like the iPad or iPhone.

The company’s stock fell $4.35, or 0.69%, during today’s trading.
